About Spritz Communications

We've been helping people with their computers since 1993 — when John and Diane Cook started Cook's Computer Programming out of a refurbished motel in St. Joseph, Missouri. Three decades and a couple of name changes later, it's a one-person operation, and when you reach out, you're talking to Jason Cook directly — not a ticket queue.

We call ourselves the Open Source MSP. The toolkit we work with — RustDesk and MeshCentral for remote sessions, Wazuh for security monitoring, Linux servers, AdGuard Home, Let's Encrypt — isn't built on expensive vendor licensing that has to get baked into every bill. Domain registrations are passed through at Cloudflare's wholesale price. No contracts, no upsell scripts, no surprise line items.

We focus on doing the work well, explaining what we did in plain English, and charging a fair flat rate so you always know what you're paying. Jason holds CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, and Security+ certifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to let you remote into my computer?

Yes. We use a secure remote-support tool that requires your permission to connect, and you can see everything we do on the screen. You can end the session at any time. We never install anything that gives us ongoing access without your knowledge.

Do I need to install anything beforehand?

No. When it's time for your session, we'll send you a link. You click it, run a small file once, and we're connected. There's nothing to install permanently.

What if you can't fix my problem?

If we can't resolve your issue remotely, you don't pay. We'll let you know up front if it looks like the kind of problem that needs hands-on hardware work.

How long does a session take?

Most sessions are 30 to 60 minutes. Heavier jobs (like setting up a new computer or recovering data) can take longer, but the price stays the same.

What hours are you available?

Phone hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central, and Sundays are off. The contact form is open 24/7 — we'll usually get back to you the same day and schedule a session that works for you, evenings included.

What types of computers do you work on?

Windows PCs primarily, plus Macs and most major web browsers, email clients, and office software. If you're not sure, just ask.
